Got a good night sleep and started out with our first trip into town. Pretty town along the sea shore and seems to be the location for any water type of activities. While in town we went to church, then breakfast and finished up shopping for food and drinks.
We have just a short 2 min walk to the ocean beach, which goes for miles. Weather is wonderful, sunny, hot and tanning is happening.

Safe in Sydney...
Arrived safely in Sydney after a bloody long travel day.....all bags also arrived....and that is a pile of bags! Rented an 8 passenger minivan...and headed up the coast. Doug drove until we stopped for lunch...then Randy. Both can claim one 'curb strike'....but in general the biggest driving challenge has been using the turn signal lever on the right side of the steering wheel. The lever on the left side of the wheel is the wipers.....and they have gotten significant excercise. We are keeping score .....and we both are racking up the miscues on that.
The Resort where we spend our first week is about 4 hours from Sydney, and is right on the ocean. Sitting here we can hear the waves crashing. Definitely not a snorkeling type beach...but very beautiful. While we had drinks and a little dinner...we watched the different varieties of birds...and the Kangaroos. No...seriously we did, and here is the picture to prove it.

'All our bags are packed...and we ARE ready...
'All our bags are packed ( and weighed), we're ready to go......' The car will pick us up in less than an hour for the trip to O'Hare....check our bags and hope we weighed them correctly.....and off to Sydney via LA. Thanks to Kloobs....who questioned the length, and made me go back and check. So the whole flight is only....yes ONLY 19 + hours. Ok...you're right...that still sounds insane. But...we are on VACATION !
Royal Caribbean gets great marks...they upgraded both couples to better rooms for the Cruise at no charge. United....who once thought of me as a VIP....not so good. After an hour on the phone yesterday trying to reach some PERSON who could make something happen and upgrade our flight..no luck. But hey....the longest segment is only 15 hours !

12 Days to Down Under Land

Looking forward to finishing our lists of "things to do". Camera stuff is being looked over so the pictures turn out OK. Laptops are ready to stay "hooked-up" to all back home through either E-mails, IM's and phone calls thru SKYPE & / or AIM call out's. No cell phones will be used only laptops featuring call out options.
However, the best way will be to stay tuned to the blog site. You can send us messages also.
